EAA Chapter 84 Eagle Flights

A Eagle Flight is for those adults over 18 who are considering getting their pilot's license or a related aviation certification such as Airframe and Powerplant mechanic (A&P). There are qualifications for those interested in an Eagle Flight:

  • Chapter 84 meeting attendance
  • Chapter 84 member recommendation
  • Demonstration of having started a ground school/classroom training program
  • An equivalent qualification approved by the Eagle Flight Coordinator

Eagle flights are a short, 20 to 30 minute introductory flight with a EAA Eagle Flight pilot - they are not for instruction nor with a flight instructor. These flights are to introduce those interested in becoming a pilot to the world of flying. For those qualified, the flight is free of charge. The Eagle Flight Pilot donates their time as well as fuel and all plane expenses without reimbursement.

Eagle flights are not a sightseeing flight. Those are available from any flight school and are usually with an instructor and typically last an hour or so.
