Chapter 84

Learn – Design – Build – Fly – Fellowship – Volunteer – Lead

Welcome to our chapter

Whether you fly, build, restore or simply enjoy airplanes and aviation, you are welcome to attend our events and join our Chapter.

We are a group of aviation enthusiasts, aircraft builders, and pilots who get together with like minded people to share ideas, exchange information, encourage safety, serve the local aviation community and have a lot of fun doing so. Please come to our next meeting or event as our guest.

EAA Chapter 84 is based at Harvey Field (S43), about half a mile south of the town of Snohomish, WA. General membership meetings are normally held every second Tuesday in Harvey Field’s Hangar 15. Meetings are now held both in-person and via Zoom; contact the President for a Zoom link.

COME JOIN US FOR THE HOLIDAY PARTY ON DECEMBER 6TH AT 5PM

There will not be a meeting on Dec. 9th. Instead, we will have our annual Holiday Party on Dec. 6th at 5pm at the Harvey Field Hangar 15. The social hour starts at 5pm, followed by dinner at 6pm and then awards and other activities. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share. The chapter will provide meat and vegetarian entrees. Instead of the gift exchange, this year will be having Door Prizes.

NOVEMBER 11 MEMBER MEETING RECAP

We had a great meeting and presentation from Dr. Youcef Abdelli. Dr. Abdelli talked about the all-electric airplane he is developing. It was an interesting and lively presentation, taking questions at the end. Dr. Youcef even lingered longer to talk with us afterwards. Thank you Dr. Abdelli! And, thank you to Mike H. for inviting him!

NOVEMBER 11 MEMBER MEETING

Our next member meeting will be held November 11th at Hangar 15 at Harvey Field starting at 6:30. We will have a few snacks beforehand so come at 6:30 to hang out and socialize.

NOVEMBER PRESENTATION

ZT1 Technology CEO and founder Dr Youcef Abdelli will be our guest speaker for the November Chapter meeting.  ZT1 Technology and Liberty Aerospace are developing an all-electric version of the Liberty XL-2 aircraft.  ZT1 Technology will be responsible for the design and development of the integrated electric propulsion system, which encompasses the electric motor, power electronics, thermal management, battery systems, and avionics.  Dr. Abdelli has led many successful aircraft electrification development programs including the eBeaver program that first flew in 2019, followed by the eCaravan in 2020.  Most recently, he also was the Chief Engineer at Amazon Prime Air and the CTO for ZeroAvia.
