Chapter 84

Learn – Design – Build – Fly – Fellowship – Volunteer – Lead

Welcome to our chapter

Whether you fly, build, restore or simply enjoy airplanes and aviation, you are welcome to attend our events and join our Chapter.

We are a group of aviation enthusiasts, aircraft builders, and pilots who get together with like minded people to share ideas, exchange information, encourage safety, serve the local aviation community and have a lot of fun doing so. Please come to our next meeting or event as our guest.

EAA Chapter 84 is based at Harvey Field (S43), about half a mile south of the town of Snohomish, WA. General membership meetings are normally held every second Tuesday in Harvey Field’s Hangar 15. Meetings are now held both in-person and via Zoom; contact the President for a Zoom link.

SEPTEMBER 9 MEMBER MEETING

EAA

Our next member meeting will be held September 9 at Hangar 15 at Harvey Field starting at 6:30. This month's speaker is Chris "Duff" Guarente, who will speak about a new kitplane project his team is developing at Intrepid Aircraft. Please join us ahead of the meeting for our burger burn, which will begin at 5:30 pm at the chapter hangar at Harvey Field (at the end of the row of hangars past Skydive Snohomish). $10 donation suggested. Many thanks to Tom Williams for being our chief burger burner this month!

Chris Guarante is a test pilot who has flown the first flights of both the Scaled Model 400 and Stratolaunch. He was a previous Air Force test pilot and director of operations, flying both the F-22 and F-16, where he was the first pilot to launch a guided AIM-9X off the F-22. He has worked as the lead test pilot on the development of both the XB-1 Supersonic Demonstrator at Boom Supersonic and the new Seaglider aircraft at Regent, where he executed the first engine runs and sea trials. He continues to be a test pilot for several companies as a contractor.

AUGUST 12 BURGER BURN RECAP

In lieu of a monthly meeting in August, we had a burger burn and social. Many thanks to all who attended and to Dan Thomas for being our chief burger burner at the event!

JULY 8 MEMBER MEETING RECAP

Our July 8 meeting was held at Hangar 15 at Harvey Airfield (S43) in Snohomish. We had a great burger burn before the meeting. Many thanks to all who helped out with both cooking and cleanup. We did not have a speaker this month, so we instead had more time to tell stories at both the official meeting and at an extended social hour afterwards. Many thanks to Charlie O'Neil for bringing a set of delicious fruit pies!

JUNE MEMBER MEETING RECAP

Our June meeting was held on June 10 at Hangar 15, Harvey Field. Terry Burch, who has built more than ten RVs, discussed the ins and outs of RVs and aluminum fabrication.

MAY MEMBER MEETING RECAP

APRIL MEMBER MEETING RECAP

Our April meeting was held on April 8 at Hangar 15, Harvey Field. Our speaker was David Voetmann, Director of the Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Edmonds College.
