What is AeroEducate?
AeroEducate is an EAA Chapter 67 youth education initiative for students (ages 13-18), to experience a variety of aviation related career path activities. This modular program consists of educational tracts and awards centered on task as well as knowledge-based objectives. Completion of certain tracts may assist participants who are interested in qualifying for aviation related scholarship opportunities.
Education
Because not everyone interested in a potential aviation career wants to be a pilot, participants can choose from a variety of educational experiences that reflect their interests. Youth participants will be guided through each educational tract by volunteer adult EAA members with real-world experience in the area being studied. Tracts include:
• Pilot
• Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic
• Aviation Safety
• Ground Support
• Unmanned Aerial Vehicles
• FAA Inspector
• Air Traffic Control
Community
AeroEducate includes membership in its own social community that will function much like a standard EAA chapter. Operation of AeroEducate’s “Chapter” will be performed by its youth members and will have its own president, vice-president and treasurer. These leadership positions are also educational tracts designed to develop future EAA members and leaders and will be mentored by adult EAA chapter members who are serving or have served in these positions.
