The EAA Young Eagles program was launched in 1992 to give interested young people, ages 8 - 17, an opportunity to go flying in a general aviation airplane. These flights are offered free of charge and are made possible through the generosity of EAA member volunteers.
In 2016 the EAA Young Eagles program reached two Million Young Eagles flown. 2022 marks the 32nd year of the Young Eagles program. Young Eagles have been registered in more than 90 different countries and have been flown by more than 42,000 volunteer pilots. For many, it was the start of their journey to becoming a pilot, aircraft mechanic, air traffic controller, or many other aviation related career possibilities.
EAA Chapter 515 actively supports the Young Eagles program by flying Young Eagles on an individual basis and putting on Young Eagles Events as part of our yearly activities. Flying Young Eagles every year since the programs inception, Chapter 515 has provided over 2500 Young Eagles their first experience with general aviation.
