Join us for a fun and inspiring day of aviation at Tampa Executive Airport as we introduce the next generation to the excitement of flight through the EAA Young Eagles program on June 13, 2026 at VDF airport. Please register with link below for this free flight.
Young people ages 8–17 will have the opportunity to experience a free introductory flight with volunteer pilots, learn about aircraft and aviation careers, and explore the airport environment up close. Families are welcome to attend and enjoy a morning filled with aviation education, community engagement, and hands-on excitement.

Meet the Pilot
The pilots who participate in the Young Eagles program are local members of EAA who are volunteering their time and aircraft to make your flight possible. Each Young Eagles pilot is certificated with the Federal Aviation Administration or Transport Canada. Flights are conducted according to federal regulations, and no aerobatic maneuvers will be performed. A pilot's complete youth protection training and vetted via a background check.
What will the pre-flight be like?
The pilot will explain what your child will see and do. This may include explaining how airplanes work, looking at an aeronautical chart (or map), and describing the interior of the airplane, including the instrument panel. Then comes the fun part: time to go flying!
Safety Reminders
Safety is always a top priority when it comes to aviation. Listen and follow instructions given by that pilot, stay away from the propellers, and stay with the pilot or ground crew at all times. Do not enter the ramp area unescorted.
What will the flight be like?
Young Eagles will spend about 15 to 20 minutes in the air and experience the awesome feeling of flight that many people only dream about. Many people remember this experience for the rest of their lives!
Where is this location for this Young Eagles Rally ?
The event is located at Skyport Aviation which is the primary Fixed Base Operator (FBO) at Tampa Executive Airport (VDF), located at 6530 Tampa Executive Airport Rd, Tampa, FL 33610. It is situated roughly eight miles northeast of downtown Tampa, near the junction of I-4 and I-75. The airport is accessible via the US-92 (Hillsborough Ave) corridor. Regardless of your starting point, your goal is to reach the intersection of I-4 and I-75 and follow local signs toward Eureka Springs Rd.
