January 20, 2024 Event was held at EAA 175 CEC and topic was a VMC Session.
Due to weather and cancellation of members and visitors for December 16th chapter event, we had the December VMC session for this month event.
Ryan is not only our new incoming President but also is bringing his FAAST presentation again this month and it is focused on the Airspace in our area. This month, Ryan’s had discussion on how we can use and coordinate our use for normal and emergency operations using our local airspace examples. Not only should we keep out of trouble with the FAA’s Airspace (like blundering into restricted, or operational MOAs), we should know how to use our FAA Airspace to our advantage. Flight planning must consider our airspace, aircraft capabilities, and weather. Knowing your airspace is key to efficient flight operations.
