Our next gathering will feature two activities:
1. This month's Gathering features, "Dave & Parker's Excellent Adventure!"
Our own chapter members Dave Sprinkle and Parker Thomas will share photos and stories of their trip from OAK to OSH for AirVenture 2025 squeezed into a Cessna 140. They will recount their go/no-go decision, planning, humorous anecdotes, and "learning experiences" that we can all take away.
2. Now that our chapter is two years old, it's time for our first officer election:
- A short Member Meeting will be held on November 20, 2025 at 6:30 PM preceding our monthly Gathering at the Oakland Aviation Museum. Member Meetings are for governance matters (whereas monthly Gatherings are for doing social, educational and aviation chapter activities).
- The purpose of this Member Meeting will be to elect our chapter officers for the next two years. Our Bylaws require a vote, so please do! The current sitting officers will be on the ballot for a simple yes or no vote. No other members indicated their intention to run for an officer position.
- Members who are current (dues are paid) will be eligible to vote. We will gavel in the meeting, review the ballot (a web form), and open voting. The web ballot will remain open for exactly one week to ensure that members who are unable to attend can vote.
- Don't fear: the Member Meeting will likely be finished within 10 minutes.
