URGENT CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS for our upcoming Young Eagles Rally on Saturday, September 26th. We already have about 30 youngsters registered with 7 more on a waitlist. We NEED at least 3-4 more pilots, 6 more ground crew, and about 3 more registration people. No experience necessary. Willing to help out and help make once in a lifetime memories for these kids?
Whether you’d like to volunteer as a pilot, help on the ground, or just have questions about what’s involved, We’ll be happy to help you get started and find a role that works for you.
For many of these kids, this may be theirfirst opportunity to sit in a small airplane, talk with a pilot, and see their hometown from the air. A few hours of our time can create a memory that lasts a lifetime—and, for some, it may be the beginning of a lifelong interest in aviation. If you’re available to participate on September 26, please let us know.Pilots and ground volunteers are equally important to making the rally a success. Thank you to everyone who has supported our Young Eagles program in the past. After six months, it will be great to get our Chapter 1236 Young Eagles operation flying again—and hopefully welcome a few new volunteers to the team! We hope to see you on September 26.

• 8:00 AM –Set-up
• 8:30 AM – Volunteer pilots and ground crew gather
• 9:00 AM – Young Eagles flights begin
EAA Chapter 1236 is excited to once again host a Young Eagles Rally on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the Carlile Hangar. While this is not an annual event, it will be our first Young Eagles Rally in several months, and we look forward to once again introducing local youth to the joy and excitement of flight.
To ensure everything is ready before our first participants arrive, all volunteers are asked to report by 8:30 a.m. This time will be used to prepare aircraft, organize registration, conduct volunteer and pilot briefings, review safety procedures, and coordinate flight operations. The rally will officially begin at 9:00 a.m., when we welcome our Young Eagles and their families.
The success of every Young Eagles Rally depends entirely on volunteers. Our volunteer pilots generously donate not only their time, but also their aircraft, fuel, maintenance expenses, and years of aviation experience. Equally important are our ground volunteers who greet families, assist with registration, escort participants, coordinate aircraft movement, maintain a safe operating environment, and ensure every child enjoys an unforgettable experience.
Many adults can remember the person who first inspired them to pursue aviation. For many of today’s young people, that inspiration begins with a Young Eagles flight. A simple 20 minute ride has the power to spark a lifelong interest in flying and can ultimately lead to careers throughout the aviation industry.
As the Young Eagles program celebrates reaching nearly 2.5 million youth introduced to aviation, every Chapter 1236 volunteer should take pride in knowing that each flight given on September 26 becomes part of that extraordinary legacy.
Thank you to every pilot, volunteer, and supporter who makes the Young Eagles program possible. Together, we continue EAA’s mission of growing participation in aviation and inspiring tomorrow’s aviators—one Young Eagle at a time.

Important Message to Current Young Eagles Pilots/Ground Volunteers. . .and to Wanna be Pilots/Ground Volunteers From Bob Kircher, Chapter 1236 Young Eagles Coordinator: Our last Young Eagles Rally went well and we wanted to conduct another rally while it's still relatively cool weather and also give our larger chapter membership the opportunity to observe a rally conveniently on a meeting day. I hope you might be interested in flying one or more Young Eagles that day in support of the program. The system that registers the youth, as well as scheduling of Pilots and Ground Volunteers has changed as of this month. The old website (youngeaglesday.org) will be decommissioned shortly. As a result, all volunteers must once again sign up in order to participate. Please go to the new website eaachapters.org and click on the SIGN UP button at the bottom. Once you complete the short SIGN UP process we can then invite you as volunteer for the March 8th rally. The username in this new system is your email address and the password that is used will be the same password from your eaa.org credentials. If you have any questions or problems getting signed up in the new system, please feel free to contact me. We hope to see you at the rally and get a chance to volunteer in Young Eagles.
