EAA Vintage Chapter 16

Gardner KS K34

Young Eagles Page

EAA Young EaglesEver wondered what your neighborhood looks like from the sky? Or simply curious how an airplane works or dream of becoming a pilot? If you’re nodding your head “yes” to any of these questions and are between the ages of 8 and 17, you’re ready to take a free Young Eagles flight and get a first-hand experience of what pilots do on the ground and in the air.

Since 1992, over two-million Young Eagles have enjoyed a flight from EAA’s network of volunteer pilots. For many, it was the start of their journey to becoming a pilot, aircraft mechanic, air traffic controller, or many other career possibilities.

Already flown with Young Eagles?

You might be asking yourself "What now?" This is an excellent question with limitless answers! If you are interested in flying as a Young Eagle again, we ask that you bring along a friend who has never participated in the Young Eagles program.

After a Young Eagles flight, what's next? Attend an EAA Air Academy Camp! Young Eagles ages 12-18 can attend EAA's Air Academy, a series of weeklong camps designed to introduce young people to the aviation world. Click here for details. Students may also be able to receive an Air Academy scholarship from VAA16 to attend one of these camps — contact us at youngeagles@vaa16.com for more information.
