Chapter 67 News and Announcements

2026 Event Calendar

  • IAC Chapter 77 Corvallis Corkscrew Contest. Registration/practice Thursday, 16 July, Contest Days, 17-18 July. Visit Corvallis Corkscrew Link
  • Apple Turnover Pre-Contest Practice Days, (M-T-W) Tuesday-Wednesday, 18-19 August, KEPH
  • Apple Turnover Registration and Practice Day, Contest Days, (Th-Fr-Sa), 20, 21-22 August, KEPH

We believe that moving Apple Turnover from its traditional post-Labor Day September weekend to late August mitigates the risk of wildfire smoke cancelling contest flights. It's not much of a heat trade: AT25 in September suffered >100 degree days before the smoke shut down the contest.

Hertz Rent-a-Car now delivers cars to the Ephrata Municipal Airport for pilots training and participating in IAC67 camp and contests! Hertz and the Port of Ephrata have executed an agreement that enables Hertz to park a reserved car at the Ephrata Terminal and allow the renting pilot to leave the car at the Terminal at the completion of the rental. Renting pilots pick up their keys and contract from the terminal pilot lounge. We're exploring a way to help a renting pilot share the cost of the rental with other pilots who need transportation at Ephrata acro events.

Pay Chapter 67 membership dues online! Visit the "Join or Renew" page. Use Stripe to submit your dues with a credit card (or you can mail a check to the Treasurer).

Online payment has been expanded to include contest and camp fees, hangar rent, and for donations to the chapter.

Chapter 67 has  a Long Term Waiver for the Ephrata Municipal Airport (KEPH) aerobatic “box”. We use the Long Term Waiver for extra practice days before Apple Cup and Apple Turnover contests.  Please e-mail mamontb@comcast.net if you want to attend.

More Hangar Space Expected at Ephrata! The tenant of the northern hangar is scheduled to vacate at the end of July, 2026, making that hangar available for Apple Turnover 2026. Between that hangar and space already available in the Building 405 hangar (used during the May acro camp and Apple Cup 2026) there should be ample space for Apple Turnover airplanes.

Practice day participants are required to sign the same waiver required for contest participation, complete a technical inspection (see below), and arrange for a “box monitor”.

IAC now requires practice participants complete the contest Technical Inspection, which includes pilot, airplane, parachute repack/inspection documentation review and an inspection of airplane and 'chute condition, under the observation of another member.

Please send any aerobatic news, announcement, or information items that you think will interest chapter members to the webmeister to be posted to this page.
