2026 Annual Fly-In at the Port of Orcas!
Join us August 7-9 for the EAA Annual Fly-in!
The annual Orcas Island Fly-In will be held Friday through Sunday, August 7 through 9, 2026 at the Eastsound Airport. Sponsored by the local Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 937. Pilots fly in from all around the Pacific Northwest and Canada filling up the field with a wide variety of aircraft, from homebuilts to warbirds. The Fly-in will also offer commemorative t-shirts, sweatshirts, and ball caps.
The Fly-In is a fundraiser for and organized by the local EAA Chapter 937. EAA is an international nonprofit organization that promotes aviation-related education and interests. Our Chapter also sponsors the Young Eagles Program which provides free airplane rides to young people ages 8 to 17.
No fees will be charged for aircraft camping or tie downs during the Fly-In weekend. If flying in, be sure to adhere to the Noise Abatement Procedures for the Port of Orcas. Please remember to bring means (e.g., wheel chocks, stakes, and rope) of securing your aircraft against movement, as our supplies are limited.
For further information, please contact Todd Hoover at (435) 640-7993.
Guests arriving by airplane are welcome to camp ‘under the wing’ in our grass tie-down area. We have showers and toilets nearby. If you would like a more refined stay, our quaint village is within walking distance and has many fine dining and lodging establishments.
Here is an Airport Map that highlights important locations for the Fly-In. For example, Johanna's Catering will have a Food Truck (see airport map) on site on Saturday (August 8th) from 1000 to 1700. The food she makes is El Salvadorian - and is delicious!
One of our Chapter Members (thanks Mark!) has made his hangar ("Mark's Hangar" on the Airport Map) available for people to connect, relax, and get out of the sun. His hangar will be open 1200 to 2200 on Friday, and 0800 to 2200 on Saturday. Additionally, Mark has coordinated with Sea View Theater to have a movie played at his hangar on Saturday night from 1800 to 2000. Lastly, for those of you with energy to burn, there will be a DJ from 2000 to 2200, so don't forget your dancing shoes!
In addition, the volunteers from Orcas Island Fire and Rescue will be serving their Pancake Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 0800 to 1100 at Station 21 across the street from the airport. And the Orcas Road Classic Car show will be on Saturday at Airport Park.
For those who would like to walk to town. Here is a walking path to town map. The walking path is about 1/2 mile long one way. The entrance is at the back of the Orcas Fire Station that is across the street from the Airport. From the camping area of the airport it is about a 1 mile walk (one way).
