Each summer, the EAA offers their Air Academy camp experience at the EAA headquarters in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The Air Academy provides an aviation focused experience for youth. Details about the Air Academy camps with session dates, financials, and accommodation details can be found at this link.
Our chapter typically selects one or two youth to sponsor at the Air Adventure camp each summer. In 2027 the chapter will reserve the candidate's preferred session and time slot and we will cover 50% of the tuition for the camp session including the application deposit. The balance of the tuition due may be covered by making a separate application for an EAA Camper scholarship after the youth's camp application has been accepted. The family must arrange and cover the cost of transportation to and from Oshkosh, WI.
There are two age ranges for 2027: 14-15 and 16-17:
The Explore Aviation Camp involves hands-on aircraft building skills and experiences. There are 2 sessions for ages 14-15; a 6-day program. Page down through the link above for more details regarding the Air Academy camp experience. The tuition total is $1350.
There are 2, 9-day sessions for ages 16-17 youth that overlap with the 2027 EAA AirVenture convention week (July 26-August 1). The tuition total is $1700.
The Discover Flight Camp for aspiring pilotswill focus on exploring career opportunities in aviation. It has 1, 6-day session for each of the listed age groups. You may note in the link above that there are some overlap in the activities offered by these 2 camp offerings. The tuition total is $1350.
