EAA CHAPTER 775 GATHERING SEPTEMBER 28, 2026
Welcome by Bill Holland, chapter President. 10 members present.
EAA CORPORATE UPDATES shared with our membership:
- Trimotor Program will no longer be doing visits to multiple sites. A few visits may occur prior to Air Venture close to Oshkosh in 2027.
- EAA Leadership Boot Camp – the nearest site for our chapter will be in Slidell, Louisiana in 2027.
- Young Eagle registration program is having some issues. We will need to print off the consent forms for each registrant for our October rally and have the parent sign that form when they check in on Young Eagle date.Hopefully these issues will be resolved in the near future.
SEEKING NOMINATIONS FOR OFFICERS
Chapter 775 will be seeking members that are interested in being officers for 2027. We hope to have a ballot together by mid-November and elect our new officers at the November meeting. Brief discussion about the offices and duties that can be considered by interested members.
CHAPTER 775
Sharp County/ EAA Chapter 1718 - October 1,2026 Bill and Sharon Holland will be attending the Sharp County chapter meeting to discuss hosting Young Eagle Flights. There may be some pilots/ground support there that would want to assist our chapter with YE flights and Chapter 775 can assist them in return. Any members that would like to travel with us to Sharp County for this meeting, let us know.
October 31, 2026 9:00 – 11:30 A.M. is our next Young Eagle Rally at Baxter County Airport. The rally is posted on the EAA site and registration is open. Pilots and ground support will be receiving emails through the YE system asking you to “confirm” if you will be assisting with that rally. Details will be discussed at our October 26TH meeting prior to the rally.
Also, on October 31, 2026 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm our chapter will be hosting “TREATS ON THE TARMAC” a static aircraft display and opportunity for trick-or-treat youngsters to see aircraft up close. Whether you have a plane on display or not, come and join in the fun with the kids!! EAA will not be responsible for purchasing the goodies, so bring a bag of treats and join in!!
OTHER UPCOMING EVENTS IN OUR AREA
October 10, 2026 Valley Airpark Fly In Breakfast from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. at Duane and Micki’s home/hangar. $10 donation appreciated.
LEAF is hosting Mountain Home Christian Academy 5th graders at Baxter County Airport on October 8th 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Static display of aircraft, educational videos, simulator activities are planned. Anyone interested in assisting with this should contact Gere Gage.
“RUN THE RUNWAY” October 24, 2026 is being held at Baxter County Airport. This is a 5K run and one mile walk event. Gere Gage is looking for volunteers to assist with a number of activities. There will be advisories posted regarding the hours that the runway will be closed for the event.
