Chapter 70 Events Calendar

Hello All,
Our Young Eagles 2025 season is approaching with our first event on April 13th, it is time to ensure that we all have completed the proper requirements for the program. Firstly, you need to complete the "EAA's Youth Protection Training and background check." This must be completed by all volunteers, including pilots flying and ground crew as well. It consists of a short online course and background check. This requires very little time to accomplish and the cost is covered by the national EAA as well. If you're unable to make the first event date, here are all of the future Young Eagle dates. Saturday May 17th, Saturday June 14th, Sunday July 6th, Saturday August 16th, Sunday October 12th
Steps to this course are as follows:

          1. Log into your account on eaa.org or create one if you haven't done so already.

          2. Once logged in, click on your account info, which is the person silhouette in the top right corner of the page.

          3. This page will show you your account info. Scroll down to the, "Training Information" tab and click on, "Go to Training."

          4. On the next page, it will show your, "Completed Courses" and "Available Courses." If you have already completed these, it will show the expiration date here, or if you have not, it will give you the options to complete them. Both of these are valid for 3 years.

          5. Please complete, "Youth Protection Training" and "Background Check." Once completed it will save to your profile and also give the option to print your certificate if desired.

Secondly, for all of the pilots flying, I have attached a form to be completed and returned to myself, Mike Friedman, or Rana Pal at your convenience, (but before flying an event). This form contains some basic information about yourself and the airplane you will be flying and is just some additional protection for you and our chapter. These forms are only for the chapter and will remain in our possession at all times.

We always need more volunteer pilots and ground crew for these events, so please don't be shy! Come fly as little or as much as you would like or help inspire the next generation of aviators on the ground!

Again, our first event for this year will be on Sunday, April13th from 9am to about 1pm or so. We have decided to make this a closed event to test and iron out any issues with the new iPad and online registration app the program is requiring now. We have a group of 30 boy/girl scouts who will be flying and 15-20 students from the Wallenpaulpack aviation program as well, so we'll need all hands on deck! (Event is capped at 50 YE this time).

PPG guys, we would love to see you at these events as well! We won't be able to have any flying during this, but would love for some ground help and static displays of your stuff to help educate and entertain the Young Eagles waiting to fly!

Thanks again for all your help and I look forward to this years chapter events! Don't hesitate to reach out to me directly if you have any questions about anything I've described here!
