EAA Chapter 639 HMB Pilots Memorial Aviation Scholarships are awarded in memory of pilots in our flying community whose camaraderie and support to local youth and the aviation community are greatly missed and never forgotten. A flight scholarship was started in memory of Eddie Andreini Sr., and later an aviation-mechanics scholarship was offered in memory for George Auld. More than than 10 youth have embarked on their aviation journeys with aviation scholarships from the Half Moon Bay airport aviation community.

About Bryan Falvey
This year's scholarship fundraiser is in recognition of Bryan Falvey who recently flew West and will be sorely missed. Growing up with family and friends in the aviation community, Bryan began learning how to fly early on. Over many years of juggling school, work, life, instructor availability and the challenges that weather has on learning to fly in Half Moon Bay, Bryan achieved his lifetime goal and got his license in his beloved Cessna 152. But along the way, he made a big impact on many other pilots and aspiring aviators in the community.
From letting Costside kids and other pilots use his plane for flight training, volunteering at 'Dream Machines' every year, and countless Pilot Association scholarship fundraisers, to showing up at every airport meeting with something to share, Bryan's unpretentious support and heavy lifting had a huge impact that he preferred went unnoticed. But it was easy to see the impact of his generosity on people's success in getting pilot ratings, flying experience, and even helping launch careers in aviation. Most missed though will be his genuine friendship, and his patient and stoic 'can-do' approach approach to any challenge.
