✈️ About EAA Chapter 586
Building Community, Inspiring Youth, and Celebrating the Spirit of Flight
EAA Chapter 586 is a passionate community of aviators, aircraft builders, students, and aviation enthusiasts based at Show Low Regional Airport. Since our founding, we’ve been committed to sharing the excitement of aviation, supporting hands‑on learning, and strengthening the aviation community throughout the White Mountains.
Our chapter thrives on the belief that aviation is more than flying—it’s craftsmanship, mentorship, education, and friendship. We bring people together who love airplanes, enjoy learning, and want to make a positive impact on the next generation of pilots and builders.
⭐ Our Mission
To promote aviation through education, community involvement, and accessible opportunities for people of all ages. We strive to:
- Encourage youth participation through the Young Eagles Program
- Support builders and pilots with shared knowledge, workshops, and mentorship
- Host events that bring the aviation community together
- Celebrate the joy, history, and future of flight
🛩️ Our Members
Chapter 586 is made up of pilots, A&P mechanics, homebuilders, students, families, and aviation fans of every background. Some fly regularly, some are building their first aircraft, and others simply enjoy being part of a welcoming aviation community.
What unites us is a shared passion for flight and a commitment to helping others discover it.
📚 Youth & Education
We are proud supporters of aviation education in the White Mountains. Through Young Eagles rallies, Young Eagles Build & Fly, Youth Scholarships and mentorship opportunities, we help young people explore aviation careers and the thrill of flying.
Many of our members volunteer their time, aircraft, and expertise to ensure every young person has a safe, inspiring experience.
🤝 Community Engagement
EAA Chapter 586 is deeply connected to the Show Low community. We participate in airport events, host fly‑ins and pancake breakfasts, and collaborate with local organizations to promote aviation awareness and support community growth.
Our chapter is a place where friendships form, skills grow, and aviation thrives.
