EAA Chapter 524

FREDERICK, MD

RV 10 Work Session #10

The focus on Thursday evening and Saturday continued to be on preparing the tail cone for mating with the fuselage. Some final corrective rivet replacements were completed. Then the ribs and tray for the battery and elevator horn were assembled and added to the tail cone. Finally, the tail cone was ready for a first trial fitting. It was a slow, deliberative process. In the end, this first fitting was very close, but not perfect. Alignment is very important. So there was a lot of time spent on discussing how to account for and correct some very small adjustments that will need to be made. The next session will be Wednesday, January 15th at 9:00 a.m.
