Free Intro Flights for Kids Ages 8–17
EAA Chapter 288 is dedicated to inspiring the next generation of pilots through the national EAA Young Eagles Program. Since 1992, EAA chapters have given more than 2.3 million youth a free introductory flight in a general aviation airplane, sparking a lifelong passion for aviation and flight.
- Who Can Fly: Youth between the ages of 8 and 17 (parent or legal guardian must be present to sign permission forms).
- Who Flies Them: All flights are conducted by volunteer EAA pilots who donate their aircraft, time, and fuel to share the joy of flying.
- What to Expect: A pre-flight briefing covering aircraft walkaround and safety, a 15–20 minute introductory flight view from the pilot's seat, and an official Young Eagles logbook with a special access code to online aviation ground school resources.

EAA Young Eagles Program
Founded in 1992, the Young Eagles program is dedicated to giving youth ages 8–17, an opportunity to go flying in a general aviation airplane. These flights are offered free of charge and are made possible through the generosity of EAA member volunteers.
It’s the only program of its kind, with the sole mission to introduce and inspire kids in the world of aviation.
Today, the Young Eagles program has flown over 2 million kids.
