EAA Chapter 288 Flight Simulators
Chapter 288 features two high-quality VirtualFly flight simulators (offering both conventional and glass instrument configurations) located in our hangar sim room. These training devices are an invaluable tool for maintaining instrument currency, practicing procedures, and sharpening pilot skills—no previous experience necessary!
Access & Guidelines
* Eligibility: Available exclusively to Chapter 288 members in good standing.
* First-Time Checkout: If scheduling for the first time without an approved instructor, members must complete an individual checkout session with Sim Director Jack Morey (386-235-5797, [john727@earthlink.net](mailto:john727@earthlink.net)) or another designated instructor.
* Usage Rates:
* Standard rate: $40 / hour (helps cover maintenance and upkeep).
* Donor rate: $10 / hour for members who contributed specifically toward the purchase of the simulators. *(Please bring cash or check to your session).*
* Session Length: Bookings are set in fixed 2-hour blocks (you are not required to use the full time).
How to Book Your Session
1. Choose Your Sim Type:
* Conventional Instruments: Select an even-numbered hour on the booking link.
* Glass Instruments: Select an odd-numbered hour on the booking link.
2. Schedule: Book with an instructor or for self-use via our online scheduler, enter your contact details, and receive an instant email confirmation. *(If booking an instructor, please reach out to them directly to coordinate details).*
3. Location: Hangar Sim Room at 224 Cessna Blvd (accessible via outside coded door; contact your instructor or Sim Director for the door code).
