  • 13 April - Homebuilding discussion on broken tap removal techniques.

2023


  • 14 October - Cleburne Airport Manager Garrett Watson presented the airport plans for future expansion followed by Q&A from the chapter members.  Thank you Garrett for taking time to present this to us.  Information regarding the topic can be found at https://cleburne.airportstudy.net/.
  • 9 September - Weight & C.G. Presentation followed by discussions regarding Young Eagles rally's and the CPT Movie Night.
  • 12 August - Chapter members discussed their experiences at AirVenture 2023 (Presentation... and see the night airshow video taken by Donna).  The chapter schedule was also discussed.
  • 9 July - Meeting cancelled - stay cool!
  • 10 June - Garage Sale Fund Raiser - Thank you to all who contributed.
  • 13 May - Meeting Cancelled
  • 8 April - Chapter member Matt presented information on camping at AirVenture 2023.
  • 11 March - Chapter member Lee presented a video and discussion on aviation weather and weather resources.
  • 11 February - Thank you to all of the friends and visitors who came for our Hot Dog Fly-In making it the best yet.  A special thank you to our members and the Cleburne Regional Airport staff who helped make it all possible!  After such a busy day, a cookout and movie (Top Gun (1986)) was a perfect ending.
  • 14 January -Discussed upcoming events and had general flight safety discussions.

2022


  • 10 December - Members of Chapter 1555 gathered at El Torito for our annual Christmas Party Dinner.
  • 12 November - Special Thanks to Mike Montefusco for presenting "CO - It's a Gas" about carbon monoxide, its sources, physiological effects, and detection.  A handout was provided on Desirable Features for CO Detectors.  There was a lot of good background information that went into the handout.  If you want to know more, please contact eaa.chapter1555.@gmail.com.
  • 8 October - VMC: Consider an Engine Out on Takeoff presentation and an aircraft walk around of RV-12 N912TR.
  • 10 September - Chapter members Matt, Jerry Sr., and Jerry Jr. reported on this year's EAA AirVenture.
  • 14 May - 13 August - We apologize that we had to cancel these meetings on short notice.
  • 9 April - Discussed Young Eagles flight operations for the upcoming Cleburne Young Eagles Rally scheduled for 23 April... delayed to 30 April... delayed again to 7 May.
  • 12 March - The Hot Dog Fly-In was well attended due to great weather and Airplanes & Coffee also hosting their event that morning, which was delayed a week due to poor weather.  We appreciate all the pilots that flew in for coffee and donuts and stayed with us for lunch as well as the members of Airplanes & Coffee, the Cleburne Airport crew, and all our members who were able to come, help out, and have a hot dog... or tater salad... or crepes.  The meeting afterward was nice and relaxing in the CAP building with a very good movie (Sully).
  • 12 February - Chapter member Matt presented the projects in his hangar:  a great example of a Hummel Bird, which was completed and flown a decade ago and currently getting an engine modification, and parts and pieces of a Legal Eagle build.
  • 4 January - Lots of chapter business completed including moving the monthly meeting to the 2nd Saturday of each month at 4:00 pm.
    • Spin Testing Presentation: These are the slides shown at the meeting without the verbal explanation and discussion that went with them.

2021


  • 7 December - Chapter Christmas Party: Lots of food, games, gifts, and a brief tour of Eric's RV-12 build.
  • 31 October - Movie Night: Midway (2019) with Sliders, Pasta, and fixin's. 
  • 5 October -Aerodynamic Flow Visualization Presentation
    • These are just the slides shown at the meeting.  The slides have links to the videos for those that would like those links.  Lots of commentary, discussions, and questions occurred during this presentation, so the slides themselves are only a small part of the total presentation.
  • 7 September - Beechcraft Heritage Museum Photos and Discussion
    • Presentation of photos and commentary about a little known gem found in central Tennessee: The museum was created by the Staggerwing Club in 1973 in Tullahoma, Tennessee and currently consists of multiple buildings exhibiting many Beechcraft models and a few of the personalities associated with Beechcraft.  The museum is located on the south side of the Tullahoma Regional Airport / William Northern Field.  Please see the Beechcraft Heritage Museum Website for more information and pay them a visit... it is well worth it.
  • 3 August - AirVenture 2021 Photos and Discussion
    • Presentation of photos, videos, and commentary by chapter members who made the pilgrimage to Oshkosh, WI.
  • 4 July -Cookout and Fireworks
