In 2006 our chapter had a goal to introduce youth to all phases of aviation. This would include experiencing flight as well as a hands-on approach to building an airplane. We are now on our fourth project, a Sport 2S from Quicksilver Aircraft. We uncrated the project in March 2023.
This is a two-seater training aircraft that will be paired with Rotax 912 engine. The airplane and engine combination will make the aircraft economical to operate, forgiving to learn and easy on a student’s budget.
This time, a young adult member of EAA 1364 will be the build leader and direct all the build efforts with the participating individuals. The visiting kids will be doing the majority of the building with adult supervision and guidance from the build leader.
