This chapter was formed in 2001 to create a community at Gnoss Field where none existed. All too often occupants of neighboring hangars didn’t know each other, airplane builders didn't have anyone to compare notes with, and enthusiasts had no way to connect with people and activities at the airport.
Early meetings in the airport pilots' lounge drew about 20 people in those early days, and gradually the membership grew to include pilots, friends, and aviation enthusiasts. A pancake breakfast was added along with guest speakers, and more new members were recruited and welcomed into the group.
These meetings now attract up to 60 attendees with a hearty pancake breakfast and a featured guest speaker each month. They continue to be the central gathering point of our thriving airport community.
Our chapter members are also involved in a variety of social and educational activities, including Young Eagles rallies, fly-ins, building seminars, and more, to build awareness in the community.
