Chapter 1202 is a chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association. The EAA was started in 1953 by Paul H. Poberezny and his wife, Audrey. Initially they ran the organization from their home, with the first official meeting of members on January 26, 1953, at Curtiss-Wright Field, in Milwaukee. Their original mission of the EAA was to assist amateur aircraft builders, but that quickly expanded to include the promotion and preservation of all types of personal flight, particularly in the Experimental Aviation category, assigned by the FAA to aircraft used for recreational and educational purposes only. As of 2012, the original group of 35 members has grown to over 175,000. Membership is open to all, whether pilots or those simply with an interest in aviation.
Feel free to join us at the Farmville Regional Airport in Cumberland County, Virginia.
