Past Meetings:

May 16, 2026 - Chapter 1032 held a "Flying Start" day with 7 adults interested in learning to fly attending.  After a pancake breakfast Don Slone gave a presentation on the EAA and opportunities to learn to fly.  The highlight was when several members told why they learned to fly and many questions were asked.  Following that each "Eagle" was taken for a ride in a member's aircraft.  Pics below:

Apr 25, 2026  -  We had a chapter gathering at Hangar 3 at Skyhaven Airport.  Breakfast was a delicious breakfast casserole brought by Kit Lindsay and our normal pancakes by Don Slone.  We had a good crowd with several visitors.  Kit Lindsay, our chapter president, gave a presentation on what he learned at the EAA Chapter Management Seminar at Oshkosh, Wisconsin recently.  It was a great seminar and Kit brought back many new ideas and resources for our chapter going forward.  Some highlights are:

1.  EAA mission - "To grow participation in aviation"

2.  3 Legged Approach - Aviation, Education and Social

3.  EAA has free "Trial Memberships" for interested potential members.  These last for six months giving the individual a chance to see what EAA has to offer.

4.  There is a Chapter Recognition program where a chapter can earn a Gold, Silver or Bronze annual award.  We currently are at Bronze level and with one more activity can hit the Silver level!

Don Slone gave a short presentation on a Poly-Fiber fabric project he's working on.

After the meeting Don gave a tour of the new SD-1 Minisport kit he recently bought and has in his hangar.
