Welcome to our chapter

EAA CHAPTER 898 UPDATE

Greetings to the EAA 898 Members,

We have had a busy first half of 2024.  In March we toured the FAA Tech Center in Pomona, NJ.  In April we hosted the AOPA at the OEM for a Rusty Pilots Program as well as having a tour of the McGuire AFB. June saw our first two Young Eagles rallies; so far over 100 Young Eagles have taken to the skies!  In July there will be a tour of the historical Lakehurst Naval Air Station.  In August we will host a BBQ for IAC Chapter 52 prior to their aerobatic competition.  In September we'll end our summer with two more Young Eagles flights.

In June Kurt Stofko stepped down as our Young Eagles coordinator, after many years and many Young Eagle flights.  Thank you Kurt for a job well done!  We welcome Debbie Hamilton as our new Young Eagles Coordinator!

We continue to have regular Build Sessions on most Wednesday evenings at our Hanger.  The Thatcher is making progress and the Glass Star is in the home stretch, having been sent out to be painted.  Jessica's RV10 will continue building once Vans starts shipping parts again.

Please continue to come out and support the Chapter sponsored programs and events.  Additionally, please continue to support your Board of Directors with program ideas and things you would like to do.

Thank you

Jeff Hamilton, President
