We have two great build projects going on throughout the year:
1. Young Eagles RC Build Program: Come help build a extra large five-foot, radio-controlled airplane, and fly it at our Frenchtown airstrip, made just for RC planes! The RC build project lets you learn all about planes and flight controls without having to have a pilots license or money to burn. The plane is purchased through EAA funds.
2. Airplane Build Project!! We are starting a new build of an entire plane, a Van's kitplane called the RV-9. It is a two-seater, all-aluminum plane, similar to the one parked in our hangar (91VV). This requires lots of riveting, using the more challenging solid rivets, that makes more noise when using a rivet gun and bucking bar. The project is currently working on the wings, and hopefully we will move on to the fuselage late in 2026. It will be a 3 year project, with the help of adventurous local high school students, who love to build things and dream about flying.
