Harold and Leona Boyles Scholarship

In 2005, Harold and Leona Boyles left money to Chapter 338 of the Experimental Aircraft Association to establish a scholarship to help young people learn to fly airplanes.  Based at Reid-Hillview Airport in San Jose, EAA 338 is focused on homebuilt aircraft construction We are also excited to contribute to education by the administration of this scholarship.

The basics: 

  • Ages 22 and younger
  • Up to $2000
  • Available to reimburse flight training costs, toward any aircraft rating
  • Written application and attendance at one chapter meeting to apply

5. How do you support yourself, and what is the source of funding for your training so far?  Are you receiving any other scholarships?
6. What sort of flight experience and background do you have?  Hours flown, certificates held if any?  From what school?
7. What interests do you have: volunteer work, club memberships or hobbies?
8. Why are you learning how to fly?  What will you do once your training is complete?
9. What sort of training would you use the scholarship money for?
10. Why do you think you should receive this scholarship?
