May Gathering: Thursday 12 May at 7PM @ Lone Star Flight Museum --Arnie Aamodt

We welcome adults as well as students to attend. Looking forward to seeing you in 2022!

Mark Malone - Wrap-Up April Gathering

Mark Malone discussed his experience buying and flying a used Pitts acrobatic biplane. He bought the aircraft to prepare for flight testing his Van's RV-7 aircraft (which is under construction). After purchasing the aircraft, he found many small and few big problems that he was able to work thru after much time and some expense. Today he has a solid flying aircraft.

Our Young Eagles Rally (ages 8-17) was held Saturday, March 26th at the Lone Star Flight Museum. We had great weather for our six volunteer pilots who flew 21 Young Eagles (5 girls and 16 boys). Big thanks to David Braun, our Young Eagles' Coordinator and all the people who volunteered their time and resources to make this a big success. This programs helps pay back all the folks who helped us on our journey of aviation.

Thru the generosity of our members, who have made their own tools available or via chapter owned tools, you may find a seldom used tool for loan that can help with your aircraft build. As noted in prior e-mails, the aviation professional shortage is a real thing and recruiters are looking for people be on the lookout if you are interested. We will advise if we get any leads, but please forward us if you are looking for people! In the past year, we have had guest speakers from Texas Southern University in Houston and Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches about their undergraduate aviation programs.
