This calendar is updated starting early in the year, as IAC chapters confirm contest dates.
Some California contests of note include:
Two sponsored by Chapter 36, the San Diego "Hammerheads", in April (Hammerhead Roundup) and October (Akrofest) at the Borrego Airport.
Chapter 38 in northern California has scheduled the Coalingua G Fest in May.
Chapter 26 sponsors a contest, not yet on the IAC calendar, at Fox Field.
The two Chapter 36 contests are noteworthy because Sunrise Aviation, a flight school at John Wayne-Orange Country Airport (KSNA) has an Extra 300, a Pitts S2B, a SuperD, and two Decathlons. Aerobatic pilots who check out in these airplanes can take them to the contest (usually arranging to share ferry costs to Borrego from John Wayne).
