Chapter 968, Green Mountain Flyers

Rutland Airport, VT

What we are planning to do.

Welcome to The Green Mountain Flyers

Whether you fly, build, restore, or simply enjoy airplanes and aviation, we invite you to attend our events and chapter meetings. We are a group of aviation enthusiasts, aircraft builders, and pilots who get together to share stories, exchange information, encourage safety, and serve the local aviation community, and have as much fun as we can doing so. Please join us at our next event or meeting.

For 2024 we intend to host four or five Young Eagles events for the region's youth, The schedule has not been set yet. Last year these were our selected dates.

June (Saturday, 6/17) -- "Summer Solstice" Young Eagles rally
July (Saturday, 7/15) -- "Mid-Summer Fun" Young Eagles rally
Aug. (Saturday, 8/19) -- "Late-Summer Fun" Young Eagles rally
Sep. (Saturday, 9/16) -- "Autumn Equinox" Young Eagles rally

Frustratingly all these dates were rained out. We did however end our season with one successful raindate, which itself was rescheduled due to weather. It was a small but sweet event.

We intend to start our season with "Spring fling" fly-in Breakfast/Lunch on Saturday, May  4/2024

We will be serving from 8AM until 2PM

Maybe a bit longer if the people keep coming in and the food does not run out.

General meetings and events are held at the Rutland Airport (KRUT). Upstairs in the terminal building. Chapter members and non-member aviation enthusiasts are always welcome.

Visitors are always welcome!

The only requirement for joining our chapter is a love for aviation and a desire to share the camaraderie of fellow aviation enthusiasts.  Well, you need to be a member of EAA as well. Which we can provide a 6-month EAA membership when joining our chapter.
