Eagle Flights

Eagle Flights

The EAA’s Eagle Flights® is a free introductory flight experience and informal mentoring program designed to welcome and encourage adults who want to discover flying, but don’t know how or where to take that first step. It begins with a hands-on introduction, where you’ll fly with a local EAA-member pilot who will let you follow along at the controls of the airplane to get a feel for what being a pilot is all about. After the flight, he or she can help you learn more about how to get involved in your local aviation community, including the next steps you can take on the path to becoming a pilot.

Common questions asked is if flying an airplane hard or difficult?  With proper training, no!  Does it take huge physical strength, endurance, or eagle-like eye sight?  No!  Being detail oriented with a good problem solving attitude is what is needed to be a successful pilot whether male or female, big or small, young or old.  But there is a focus to flying that is "in-the-moment" that is one of the great parts about small aircraft flying as the sensations of three dimensional motion and command of purpose is what draws many to flying not only as a hobby but as a profession.

The best part of the Eagle program? The whole experience is free. Just a whole lot of fun and education with a big take-home point: your dream of flying is a lot closer than you think, but you have to take that first step.  To arrange a flight, please come to a monthly Chapter meeting so that you can be paired to one of our pilots and figure out a time to fly and from which of our local airports.  Ride-a-longs are possible for lunch.  Call Bob at 360-601-9317 or email at eaa782pearson@gmail.com for more information. Learn more about the Eagle Flights® program.

Flying Start!

The EAA Flying Start program is an informational morning classroom meeting for adults who have always wanted to learn how to fly but didn't know how or where to begin to do it at.  These sessions are held in the spring of each year on the International Learn to Fly Day and answers questions such as what is required, what ground school consists of, costs, and what will be flown are things that this one morning class with local flight instructors and current EAA members is meant to answer.  At the end of the class, attendees who are interested can take an Eagle flight in the local area and try their hand at the controls and learn by doing!   For more information leave an email and we will get back to you.
