Blue Ridge Aviators

EAA Chapter 731

EAAThe Blue Ridge Chapter of the EAA was formed in 1989 by local aviation enthusiasts, in order to:
-Promote and encourage recreational aviation.
-Promote and encourage aviation safety in the design, construction and operation of all types of aircraft.
-Promote and encourage grass roots efforts relating to aviation research and development.
-Promote safety of flight.

Today we continue this mission by occasional gatherings, and primarily by introducing young people to aviation through the EAA's Young Eagles program. Weather permitting, we offer free flights for Young Eagles on the second Saturday of each month at the Hickory airport, beginning at 9:00am.

Learn more about the Young Eagles program at https://www.eaa.org/eaa/youth/free-ye-flights.
We welcome all young people aged 8 through 17 who would like to learn more about aviation. Sign up for our next event at https://chapters.eaa.org/eaa731/young-eagles
If you have not signed up in advance, be sure that a parent or guardian of the young person is present for completing the paperwork.
We also welcome Young Eagle pilot volunteers and ground volunteers! See Young Eagles Pilots for pilot requirements.
