Through the generous support of the Ray Foundation, EAA provides up to $10,000 to deserving youths for their flight training expenses, totaling nearly $1,200,000 in scholarships annually.
The program is supported by more than 100 EAA chapters, and supports close to 120 scholars.
Each year, our chapter supports one scholar, between the ages of 16 and 19, in the form funding and mentorship to help him or her earn their pilot certificate.
EAA Chapter 663 is happy to announce this year's Ray Aviation scholarship recipient is Taris Keiper.
Taris is a senior at Dublin High School and concurrently attends Las Positas Middle College. He has been involved with EAA since he was 10 years old, when he participated in an EAA Composites Construction class. He began his flight training as a Young Eagle, and has already completed online ground school and the written exam.
Taris plans to study aeronautical engineering in college in the pursuit of a career working in the design of electric VTOLs.
