EAA Chapter 524

FREDERICK, MD

RV 10-#25 thru #26

27 and 29 February 2020 - On Thursday evening a small group worked on preparing the elevator push rods for installation. The rod ends were measured, set, and safetied. The rudder pedals were also set for permanent installation. A good turnout on Saturday resulted in more good progress. The main focus was on the brake system. The system with all its hoses is complex enough, but the addition of an optional parking brake that’s not in the plans made it even more so. A lot of time was spent sorting out the routing of hoses, the removal of a bracket, and preparing for the installation of the parking brake. Meanwhile, Peter continued his war with the complicated seat support brackets. That job is nearly done. Steve and Raegan fabricated an entirely new battery tray to accommodate the new EarthX Lithium batteries Steve got to replace the standard battery. The new batteries are both significantly lighter and more powerful than the original. Time was also spent consulting with the fellow who is going to make up the instrument panel and electrical system. Later, the fuselage was turned on its side in preparation for installing the air scoop for the air-conditioning system. The next work session will be Wednesday, March 4th at 9:00
