May / June update from EAA-46 President Paul Pedersen
From The Presidents Shack:
As the COVID restrictions are changing, the chapter is starting to return to normal with the May meeting having a program. Representatives from Mercy Flight of Buffalo will visit us with updated information. The meeting will be in the hangar so dress appropriately for the weather. As many people are concerned with safety, we will not be serving our famous Chapter 46 Coffee, or food items.
This is an important meeting for the Summer activities. Annual dues are due May 31st. If planning the trip to Oshkosh, make sure to see Jim Cavanaugh with the camping fee. We are going full speed on making the plans for the chapter camp out for Air Venture 2021. For continuous updated information, check with the Chapter 46 website.
As noted in previous issues of The Log, there will NOT be a “Camp On The Ramp” for the Memorial Day weekend. Some of the members are camping at Oz near Olean NY, while some will be at KOA Westfield NY. Contact Jim Cavanaugh if interested in OZ. I believe the KOA is sold out.
As of today, we don’t have a program for the June Meeting. Due to COVID we will not be hosting an “Open House” this year. Be sure to check the Event calendar here or the EAA-46 Facebook page for updates on the June Meeting.
The Chapter will follow State guidelines on the wearing of masks, and social distancing for all of our activities. If you are not feeling well or are having any symptoms of a virus, PLEASE STAY HOME. Thank you.
I can be reached at: 716-687-1589 or email@example.comIf you call me and I don’t answer, please leave a message as I am screening all unknown calls. Thank you. I am looking forward to seeing you at the meetings.
We lost Shirley Zelle last February. Shirley was the wife of Tom Zelle. The Chapter sends out condolences to Tom and family.
January / February update from EAA-46 President Paul Pedersen
Happy New Year to all of the Chapter 46 members and friends. Let’s hope 2021 will be much better than this past year. Congratulations to our Chapter Vice-President, Larry Stubbs on his engagement to Pam Zwick. That is probably the best news from 2020.
All of the Chapters plans are just that, plans. Due the Covid-19 restrictions, we are not planning any meetings both actual and virtual until at least April. Some of our proposed presenters do not care to do a virtual presentation, and with the present situation attendance to a live meeting would be slim.
As the 2020 attendance for the “Camp On The Ramp” was down, the decision was made to only camp at Lancaster for the pig roast in the Autumn. Some of the members are camping at Fortitude Farms -42, (Formerly OZ Homestay) for the Memorial Day Weekend, while some are camping at the KOA in Westfield, NY. Please see Jim Cavanaugh, or Paul Pedersen for information on either site.
I have been in touch with EAA Headquarters on the possibility of the return of the Ford Trimotor. Their schedule is not made up due to the Virus.
The Niagara Falls AFB is still planning on an air show on the 19th and 20th of June. At this time, I don’t know if this is a go. If the show is on, they have requested the EAA STEM trailer once again. All I can say is we are working on it.
If and when new information becomes available, I will keep you informed. Please check your e-mail occasionally for updates.
If any of you have information you would like to share, please contact me at: firstname.lastname@example.org, otherwise I will have to babble on for another Log.
Stay tuned for the Chapter 46 Oshkosh plans. I hope there is going to be an Air Venture this year. If there is, we are planning to go.
If you call me and I don’t answer, please leave a message as I am screening all unknown calls. Thank you.
