Welcome to Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 414
We are located in Lake County, Illinois, out of Waukegan National Airport (KUGN), at the home of the Warbird Heritage Foundation.
Our chapter allows members, non-members and their families to get together and enjoy the camaraderie of people who share their enthusiasm and admiration for aviation. Monthly meetings and activities contain a variety of programs focused on socializing and sharing ideas to make aviation safe and fun. Members are airline pilots, aircraft mechanics, flight instructors, recreational and student pilots and other who simply have an interest in aviation. Our members come together to enjoy friendship of others who are interested in learning more about aviation or sharing their own knowledge. Our members interests include a variety of aircraft including light sport, home built aircraft, certified aircraft and vintage aircraft.
- Our monthly get-togethers are typically on the second Thursday of the month, at 7:00pm for pizza, followed by the meeting at 7:30pm. Meetings are held at the Warbird Heritage Foundation, unless otherwise advised. Check our calendar for more up-to-date information.
- We also have monthly IMC/VMC Meetings usually via ZOOM, and sometimes in person, on the third Wednesday of the month. Check our calendar for the latest information and monthly topics.
- We also provide encouragement & assistance for builders and their projects and the maintenance of their airplanes. We have members that are EAA Technical Advisors.
- We offer educational programs for members at monthly meetings on topics such as safety, airplane construction, weather, aviation products and many other aviation related topics.
- We also help to educate the public on various aspects of aviation and its benefits to the local community.
- We provide Young Eagles flights and education for youth to encourage them to pursue a career in aviation. We also introduce adults to flying through the EAA Eagles Flight program.
- We also provide a social forum for members to meet for regular fly-out events and gatherings through out the year.
