EAA Chapter 274

Decatur, IL - Loren Hodge Chapter

Welcome to our chapter

Whether you fly, build, restore or simply enjoy airplanes and aviation, you are welcome to attend our events and join our Chapter.

The Loren Hodge EAA Chapter 274 is a Decatur, Illinois-based organized chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association, which is headquartered in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Today, the Chapter has about 80 members. All members are involved because they are aviation enthusiasts. Many are pilots, and others are student pilots who are working on their certifications. Some of the members, both singly and in groups, are involved with hands-on projects building and/or restoring airplanes. More recent activities include the annual Train-A-Pilot Scholarship sponsored by the Chapter.  Also, carried out several times each year by the Loren Hodge EAA Chapter 274 are the Young Eagles Rallies. The Young Eagles Program provides opportunities for youngsters of ages eight through seventeen years, with their parents’ permission, to learn about aircraft and to experience flight in our members’ experimental and certified aircraft.

The Chapter meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 P.M. in Hangar 102A, Decatur Airport. Guests are welcome.  Please see the Events Calendar tab or Facebook for the most up to date information for the monthly meeting.
