EAA Chapter 245

Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Mark Richardson - Bearhawk

I am currently scratch building (well, mostly) a Bob Barrows Bearhawk 4 place Model A aircraft. I did buy the wing ribs and spars already formed as well as the landing gear legs, but I have done the rest from raw materials. The Bearhawk is kind of a Maule on steroids; more room, more speed, shorter take-off and landings, much more payload, and you don't have to pay someone to maintain it for you.

 The plan is:

- IFR certified

- derated (240hp) IO-540

- Hartzell CS prop

- G3X Touch system with one 10" and one 7" portrait display

- GTN625 Certified GPS

- GTR20 remote radio

- MGL V16 and N16 COMM and NAV radios

- GMC307 Autopilot with roll, pitch, and yaw damper servos

- uAvionics tailBeaconX ADS-B Out transponder

- GDL-39R ADS-B In

- Vortex Generators
