EAA Ray Aviation Scholarship

EAA Chapter 237 Ray Aviation Scholarship Program Information

The chapter has been awarded a $11,000 Ray Aviation Scholarship for 2024. The deadline for applying was March 8. However we will be applying for an additional scholarship during the year. So first check the chapter website Ray Aviation Scholarship program for updates on that possibility.

Second, to improve your chances for future scholarships you can do some of the following: Join the chapter, participate in the monthly chapter Young Eagles programs that take place on the second Saturday of every month at Atlantic Aviation from 9am to 2pm, go through the free online Sporty's Pilot Shop Private Pilot ground school, that is provided to all Young Eagle participants, attend Chapter 237 meetings so the members can get to know you, join a Civil Air Patrol squadron, which are located all over the Twin Cities, join Chapter 237's Boy Scout Aviation Explorer Post, which holds meetings on the first and third Fridays at 7pm at the Chapter 237 hangar at the Anoka County Airport, join the Chapter 237 Simulator Club, get your Student Pilot Certificate and your Third Class FAA medical certificate, which you will need to be awarded the scholarship from EAA, join the Build A Plane program at the Princeton Airport and do any other activities, such as taking flight lessons, successfully completing the FAA Private Pilot written test.

Once we announce that we have received another scholarship, anyone who has already applied this year will be notified so you can update your application with any additional aviation things you have done. Assuming we receive a scholarship this year, applications will then be reviewed, and candidates interviewed with the scholarship then being awarded. You must be at least 15 years old to apply and be between 16 and 19 to receive the private pilot scholarship (15 to 19 for glider pilot).

Taking advantage of some of these programs or any other aviation program will help your chances of being selected for a Ray Aviation Scholarship. If you are interested in applying for a 2024 scholarship, use the link to the application form below to apply. Scholarships are awarded to the recipient by the chapter, not by EAA headquarters.
