EAA Chapter 22

Cottonwood Airport, Rockford, IL

Welcome to our chapter!

Welcome to Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 22, located at Cottonwood Airport on the west side of Rockford, IL.  We are an active group of builders, flyers, students, and just plain nerds that enjoy everything airplanes!

We normally meet the first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 at the hangar with the big EAA sign on it.  See the About Us page for the address and for info on access to the airport if the gate is locked.

We invite you to join our Facebook group to see what we are up to!  There is definitely a lot of flying going on!

We also have two build projects ongoing, which all are invited to help with!  One is the reassembly of a Cessna 150 trainer aircraft, hopefully to start a flying club with in the near future!  The other project is a Murphy Rebel, which is well along the way, but will be a few years yet to completion.  We have qualified A&Ps and technical advisors overseeing the builds.  If you would like to get a little experience actually working on airplanes, come by on Monday or Thursday evenings and join in!

Whether you fly, build, restore or simply enjoy airplanes and aviation, you are welcome to attend our events and join our Chapter.  We are a group of aviation enthusiasts, aircraft builders, and pilots who get together with like minded people to share ideas, exchange information, encourage safety, serve the local aviation community and have a lot of fun doing so.

Please come to our next meeting or event as our guest.
