Dr. Mike Stretanski, DO

Originally a Pennsylvania native and son of two school teachers, Dr. Mike was initially a CPR instructor first-aid instructor before becoming both Ohio, Pennsylvania and nationally registered emergency medical technician and high angle rope rescue firefighter.  He later studied mechanical engineering and was involved in some of the very first stealth technology coatings.  Dr. Mike graduated Widener University in Chester, PA with his Bachelors in Biochemistry and area of concentration in psychology. He is a graduate of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.  After starting at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Mike then transferred to the Ohio State University where he completed residency.   He was one of the first Suboxone providers in the State of Ohio and is been actively involved in chemical dependency detox and treatment for 20 years.  Dr. Mike holds the most relevant title of FIPP (Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice).  This is an uncommon designation requiring a 5 part written exam in the US, and four more exams in Europe, for which he had to travel to Budapest, Hungary for actual live examination of his skills during Interventional Pain procedures on live volunteer patients. 

He currently lives in Sunbury, Ohio and is the medical director and owner of interventional spine and pain rehabilitation Center as well as the Saturday spine clinic and he’s also a senior aviation medical examiner for the federally and administration. He is currently faculty, full professor of several different universities it is routinely involved in training medical students residents and advanced practitioners. His hobbies include oil painting, woodworking and  ballroom dance.  He is a level III certified chemical dependency counselor himself as well as a supervising physician for two other chemical dependency counselors he has inserted the Probuphine Suboxone implant as well as permanent pain pumps, spinal cord stimulator’s, in addition to performing laser spine surgery, fixing spinal compression fractures, and a host of interventional pain management techniques.

Dr. Mike Stretanski is the current President of the Marysville EAA Chapter 1629.    

His true passion is teaching and he has given lectures for the Federal Aviation Administration as well as the Ohio Bar Association approved by the Ohio Atty. Gen. continuing legal education credits for attorneys regarding the opiate crisis.

Dr. Mike Stretanski will give a presentation at the Marysville Union County Airport on Saturday March 14, 2020 starting at 10:00 am regarding the Opiod Crisis.  The opioid epidemic is a national catastrophe.  Every state and all demographics have been tragically impacted by this crisis.  Every day more than 130 people in the United States alone die after overdosing on opioids.
