Local EAA chapters allows you to share your interest with thousands of other members in a variety of different events and activities, including fly-ins, picnics, workshops, Young Eagles rallies, and more. As part of that, our members have their own projects that may interest you and/or they request help with. This page is dedicated to those projects.
NOTICE : COVID-19 Update
Due to the ongoing COVID-19, we will pause our in person meetings, as per EAA National. We will meet on ZOOM for our board meetings and membership monthly meetings.
Once Nashville TN is allowing us back to normal operations, we will reexamine the situation and find a suitable place to hold our in person meetings once again.
Tennessee Aviation Adventure Challenge
EAA 162 member, Brian Murphy, is working on a program to encourage pilots and non-pilots to visit all 77 airport in Tennessee. If you would like to work with Brian in the development of this program, please contact him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
1952 Canadian Harvard Mk.IV Renovation
Patrick Sieders is working on his Harvard at McGavock High School. Together with the students of the Aviation Academy, he is trying to get his plane airborne once again in 2023, after more than 35 years on the ground. The students are learning teamwork skills, tool usage and management, as well as aircraft systems.

RV-12 Build at McGavock High School
The students at McGavock High, under the supervision of aviation teacher, Derek Rowe, are building an RV-12 experimental aircraft. EAA162 has been requested, and graciously awarded, the oversight of the build. Mr. Stephen Port can be found at McGavock High many Wednesdays during school hours to supervise and help with the build.
