Aviation Youth Camp – 2026

Hosted by EAA Chapter 129

Our annual Aviation Youth Camp introduces young people to the exciting world of aviation through hands-on activities, real aircraft, aviation professionals, and even the opportunity to fly.

Camp Dates: June 22 – June 26, 2026
Time: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM Daily
Age Group: Entering grades 7–9

Camp is limited to 12 participants.

What Campers Will Experience

  • Interactive classes covering aerodynamics, aircraft construction, and aviation weather
  • Behind-the-scenes visits to aviation organizations including the Prairie Aviation Museum
  • Tours of local airport facilities and aviation operations (subject to schedule/availability):
    • Facilities we have visited in the past:
      • Visit to the OSF Life Flight helicopter program
      • Tour of Synergy Flight Center including maintenance, charter, and flight school operations
  • Hands-on flight simulation activities
  • An actual flight in an airplane as part of the EAA Young Eagles program (weather permitting)

Dates: June 22 – June 26, 2026
Time: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM Daily

Requirements:

  • Campers must be entering grades 7–9
  • Participants should have an interest in aviation, science, or engineering
  • Campers should be able to participate in classroom activities, walking tours, and group activities

Program Cost: $300
This helps cover meals, program materials, transportation, and facility expenses.
