August 2023 - At our regular meeting Sgt John Cline from the Pettis County Sheriff's Department gave us a presentation on drone operations. Jeff Suhr followed up with a presentation on military drones. Sgt Cline then demonstrated one of the drones that he uses. This was a great program!
May 2023 - We participated in the EAA First Flight program flying 8 adults. This was extremely successful! The adults were truly interested in flying and had many questions. We had local flight instructors available to discuss flight instruction opportunities.
April 2023 - Jeff Suhr, a certified Wings instructor, gave a presentation on what Wings is about and then on checklist usage. Meeting was well attended and much discussion and interest.
Mar 2023 - Due to weather the previous Saturday we flew Young Eagles flights on this date. Very successful day!
Feb 2023 - At this meeting we had Joe "Rifle" Shetterly speak. Joe is an airline pilot, an Air Force Reserve pilot flying the A-10 and one of the pilots qualified to put on A-10 demonstration flights at airshows and is a civilian airshow pilot (https://www.rifleairshows.com/joe-rifle-shetterly/). Joe is also a certified airshow pilot qualified to fly the P-51 Mustang in airshows. All of his experience made for a VERY interesting presentation.
Jan 2023 - This month's topic was "Tips, Tricks and Techniques". Each member shared things they had learned to make things easier or safer. This program went very well with everyone participating and some good discussions on various topics. This will probably be an annual topic.
