Young Eagles

EAA Young EaglesThe EAA Young Eagles program was launched in 1992 to give interested young people, ages 8 - 17, an opportunity to go flying in a general aviation airplane. These flights are offered free of charge and are made possible through the generosity of EAA member volunteers.

In 2016 the EAA Young Eagles program reached two Million Young Eagles flown. 2021 marks the 29th year of the Young Eagles program.  Young Eagles have been registered in more than 90 different countries and have been flown by more than 42,000 volunteer pilots.  For many, it was the start of their journey to becoming a pilot, aircraft mechanic, air traffic controller, or many other aviation related career possibilities.

EAA Chapter 515 actively supports the Young Eagles program by flying Young Eagles on an individual basis and putting on Young Eagles Events as part of our yearly activities.

June 12th is National Young Eagles Day.  After missing all of 2020 due to Covid restrictions, Chapter 515 is excited to be joining many other EAA Chapters across the country in holding our first Young Eagles event since 2019.  If you are interested in participating as a Young Eagle, Pilot or Ground Crew please contact our Young Eagle Coordinator Bill Snodgrass.

Our next Young Eagles Event will be:

Where:  The JetCenter at the Northern Colorado Regional Airport

If you have a Young Eagle or a group of Young Eagles (Scout Troops, Schools, church organizations, etc.) that would like to participate in our next event please contact our Young Eagle Coordinator Bill Snodgrass:
