In 2016, Chapter 512 hosted the B-17 tour at Mather Field for three days. At the completion of the "open house", 8 chapter members were fortune to fly onboard the B-17 as it relocated to Aurora, OR, home of Van's aircraft. At the end of the 3.5 hour flight, we toured Van's Aircraft, rented two cars and stayed the night. The next day, we returned to Placerville by driving the 10+ hours south on I-5.
