Chapter 1610 rounded out the month of May on Memorial Day weekend selling brats and hot dogs from the shade of our awning in front of the ACE HARDWARE in Crosslake. I mention being in the shade as it was another stellar weather-weekend. Clear blue skies, perfect temperature, a little breezy but low humidity. Crosslake was packed with shoppers stocking their cabins with goods from Reed’s Market, Bar Stock Liquors and finally...Ace Hardware. One staffer asked why there were so many people...if there was a parade, or something. I answered, “Yep...the parade starts Friday in Minneapolis and runs almost continuous on northbound Highway 371. Then it stops here.”
Saturday and Sunday, our crews kept very B-U-S-Y!! Kudo’s go out to Gordon Hart, Mike Petersen, Craig Rodamaker, Becky Putzke, Mark Crist, Rollie Noordsmann, Joe and Michelle Lambert, Trudi Amundson and Jane Haubrich. They cranked out approximately over 300 brats and 100 hot dogs.
By the way...the general consensus from our customers: these brats were quite excellent. We received a LOT of compliments. “Where did you get these? They are really good!” Or, “best brat I’ve had!” Well, our thanks goes to Reed’s Market, especially Justin and Matt back in the meat department. They blend and process everything right there. They are one of their regularly-stocked items; just look for the package with the Reed’s label marked Pre-Cooked Brats. You will not be disappointed!
WITH APPRECIATION and THANK YOU's to our contributors...
