Chapter 1117

Greeley, CO

Annual Learn To Fly Day

Come join EAA 1117 for our annual Learn To Fly Day.  For 2020, We are planning our Learn To Fly day on a Saturday, in May or June.  Check back for more information.

Learn To Fly Day offers many exciting aviation activities.  There will be static aircraft displays, food concessions, vendor displays and of course flights in aircraft.

At the vendor displays you can learn about things such as local radio control clubs, sail planes, the Civil Air Patrol and more information on the Experimental Aircraft Association.  The Air Force will also be there to answer questions and provide information on career paths in the military.

Enjoy a burger or a hot dog while you check out the vendors, static displays or try your hand at flying a real aircraft simulator.

Want to go for a flight?  We will have several aircraft available for rides.  Rides are $10 per person available on a first-come basis.  Get there early to reserve a ticket. You will fly with a certified flight instructor from the Aims Community College Aviation Program.  A great way to experience the thrill of flight for the first time. Flights are scheduled on a first-come, first served basis and will also depend on having good flying weather.

The location is at the Greeley-Weld Airport at the Aims hangar which is on the east side of the airport.
